filmmaker: Mark Michel
Illustrated by marvelous sand paintings, the film dives into the hidden world of Veronika. As a child she was certified autistic, with multiple physical disabilities and an IQ of zero. Nobody could imagine that Veronika’s mind would be wide awake. Now, as an adult, she has learned to make herself understood through an elaborate system of signs. She studies and writes stories. The film is a sensitive portrait of an extraordinary person and an insight into her world, one that was previously cut off from our own.
